Community: A Big Hunk O’Love — for dancin’

Don’t the people in that video look fabulous? Well, you can too! Mid-century fun in Midtown will be happening tomorrow night with Todd Morgan and the Emblems (seen in the video below). They are playing at Midtown Stomp, so put on your blue suede shoes and high heel sneakers and join me on the dance floor. I’m not that great of a dancer and I might step on your toes, but it will sure be a blast! 

 

Isn’t he dreamy? ;)  Ahem .. anyway: 7pm-8pm is Solo Charleston lesson, 8pm-9pm beginning east coast swing lesson and the band plays at 9pm. It is 12 bucks and the address is 2710 K StreetSacramento, CA 95816

I am not sure whether or not I just wasted an hour of my life digging through Reno’s craigslist. But I am all out of stuff in sacramento…almost (SHOCK) even the bay area. It’s so bad that a friend of mine described a chair she wanted by giving me an example of something on craigslist (no picture!) and I knew exactly what she wanted. I feel bad though that I may have put some of you’s who cannot travel through any trouble or grief…so heres more stuff!!!

“Mid century modern wood hutch in good condition. Vintage hutch has some wear and nicks, but it is a solid piece and would be great for the holidays! Hutch is two pieces – bottom piece can be used as a credenza or for storage; top piece has two sliding glass doors (not shown in picture but in excellent condition) and divots for plate holders. Craigslist: Retractable light you say? $120 Petaluma

Are you as dazzled razzled as I am looking at this thing? Can I come up with any words to describe this thing’s awesome:

“Fabulous pull-down or retractable light dating from the 1960′s by Moe Light. It features a large 22″ diameter copper tone shade and a large wooden finial on the end for pulling the fixture up & down. The mechanics for retracting the light are housed in an all brass body, and the ceiling cap is brass with the MOE sticker intact. It has a 3 bulb bakelite socket with a on/off switch in the finial. The original white cord is in fair condition with the lower cord frayed. From the ceiling canopy to bottom of finial it has a range of a 26″ drop to a 48″ drop. The entire fixture is good vintage condition with age marks in the finish, which has been accounted for in the price. The original mounting hardware is included for ease of installation. Perfect for the mid-century modern ranch or bungalow.”
