Craigslist: Coffee table 150.00: Dublin/Pleasanton

24 Oct

The wood is a little confusing…seller explains it here:

“The Paris coffee table presents a trend setting fashion statement in fine selected veneer of natural American Cherry.
This table is in excellent condition except for some minor dings. I have tried to show them in the photos. The photos do not do justice to the cherry wood. It has a very warm candle-light glow and mixes very well with other woods and wood finishes. The clean Danish Modern design fits well with mid-century as well as more traditional designs.
Made in Denmark by the Vejle Stole- og Møbelfabrik company. “

Craigslist: Chair 65.00: Curtis park

24 Oct

I love these arm rests! The color of the fabric is pretty great as well. Only thing is I’d like to see it in person to check out that chair back.
The seller is also selling another chair that looks like it may need loving hands. Chairs are selling each for 65.00 and both for a hundred.

Craigslist: Pretty in Teak desk 215.00: East Sac

24 Oct

You see that book case thing in the back of this desk! Can you imagine all the wonderful storage/display oppurtunities here! Maybe someone would need an office/lotsa space for that though.

“Beautiful solid teak Danish Modern executive desk with floating top and built in bookshelves on back.
It has amazing lip pulls and very rare exposed joinery on the desktop corners.
The teak wood is all in excellent condition and the desk is very solid and sturdy.
The dovetailed drawers all slide smoothly like new. Three small drawers on one side
and one large file drawer on the other. Large open case book shelves on the fully finished back side”

Craigslist: File cabinets 10$-Placerville

24 Oct

I had a really bad wedding dress experience from a store in Placerville. It left such a horrible taste in my mouth that I hesitated when Toni asked me if I wanted to go to Placerville next thrifting excursion I shuddered. One bad experience though shouldn’t fault all Placervillians. There was an antique store there that sold me an antique ring for like ten bucks because she found out I was getting hitched. Then another dealer from the same store gave me jars and napkin rings for a flat rate of 6 bucks (she had also just saved a pet bird from being ran over by a car-HERO).
Anyways I am really into old office crap being used for today’s furniture (we have a huge metal tanker in our house). I am thinking about checking these guys out and then using them to make a desk. Or just to have awesome storage utensil.

Craigslist: Dresser 125.00: Citrus Heights

24 Oct

Oh how I fancy dressers with mirrors. So many functions it can take on! Also the seller was clever enough to be able to take a photo of the mirror without being in the mirror (did that make sense?). That is crafty:

“This is one sharp looking and well made dresser. Purchased in 1970 from Montgomery Ward, it’s been very well taken care of ever since. It’s constructed of thick, solid wood, and made by Style House Exclusive. The mirror screws into the back. The drawers slide easily and are tongue in groove. This chest of drawers measures 52″ long, 30″ tall, and 18″ deep”

Craigslist: Couch and chair 250.00: Citrus heights

24 Oct

It’s getting to be winter weather. That means lounging on the couch with a throw, tea, and a good book. This seems like a simple gray couch with a hint of blue. Or maybe the blue is a photography mistake…in any case this couch is low to the ground with a simple shape and what looks like a rad fabric in decent condition:

“This is a near perfect condition 1970, blue/green sofa and matching chair. The tag says the style is “Windsor Americana,” bought at Beck Brothers, Sacramento 1970. There is virtually no damage whatsoever. There is a button missing off the back of the sofa and the corners of the arms have bare minimum wear. No scratches, snags, holes, stains, or smells, non-smoking single owner. Very cool, low to ground, retro style. The chair resembles modern club chairs.”
