Friday nights alright for craigslistin’

29 Jun

Everything is insanely overpriced on Craigslist right now. Sorry, folks. I don’t watch Mad Men, but I’m pretty sure it’s making everything more expensive for us all.

A valet with a dog’s face coming out of it! $20.00 in Citrus Heights.

$2100 Hans Wegner dining table with four chairs. Noice – this is almost a great price to own.

$400.00 big ol’ set in West Sacramento.

Plycraft knock-off browny browner for $400.00 in Lincoln.

$25.00 lil’ lamp in Folsom. Eh, next to a pretty radical clamtastic piece of art, there..

YA LIKE PROJECTS? Well here’s one – $250.00 for this Heywood Wakefield hutch and dining set. $250.00 for the hutch.

$300.00 for the table set with.. only three chairs? Enjoy the hunt and the restore, brah.

Yay, another one of these silly things. This one is $50.00. Watch out for CAPS OVERLOAD.

Paul Evans cubist/brutalist Lane set for $1750.00. This is a pretty sought after set, nice to see all the pieces together. Love the nightstands :D

Ice chippy gray dinette set in Elk Grove for $175.00

Apparently Craigslist is the new New York auction house. $900.00 credenza in Vacaville.

Drexel nightstands, $300.00 in Sacramento. Need a refinish – really? $300?

$800.00 Kopenhaven freedstanding shelving unit in Roseville.

Almost Das Weekund.

I feel for those readers out there who are stuck in their offices, escaping their mundane duties to look at the possible furniture they could be going home to instead. Ahh yes, your daily fix.

$185.00 for both Lane tables  in Vacaville.

So apparently my Aunt had a bunch of this blonde formica stuff in her Wisconsin home. She didn’t even like it, she just bought it and had it. I can’t help but think of that now when I see these for sale..
These could be YOURS ALL YOURS for $130.00 and a trip to Chico! Woo!

$25.00 each for these working vintage TV sets in Elk Grove.

ACK! It’s BACK!
This was one of the first things I found on Craigslist when I started writing on this dang blog (Here’s the post! I used to be much more clever back then..). The Zenith Circle of Sound. So ridiculous looking, overly complicated, so much cheapy 70’s fake wood laminate, so many places for dust to settle – but I love it.
This one is selling for $225.00 in Elk Grove.

Craigslist: Dinette with beige and green

Craigslist: Retro Dinette

25 Oct

When I was putting together my 50’s diner styled kitchen I looked everywhere for an affordable yellow formica table with either yellow or turquoise chairs. Unfortunately I am completely impatient and decided to settle for the traditional cracked ice table top (which I am now in love with, by the way). Of course that I am no longer on the hunt for the yellow they keep popping up everywhere — go figure.

I can’t really tell the style of the table but those chairs look awesome and the set is only $100.(original post)

…and this set would have gone perfectly in my kitchen. Oh well. $230 (original post)

Craigslist: Is that blue?

24 Oct

Leaves and leaves and leaves OH MY.
So I can’t really tell if this formica top is blue – or just reflecting off the aluminum door. But, I’m going to venture to say it is goddamned blue and incredible. Just know now, that the seller is asking $850 for the set. Here’s what they have to say:

My Parents received this custom designed dining table set as a wedding gift in 1961 to match their contemporary Danish furnishings. The set was designed by Paul McCobb of the Planner Group for the Winchendon Furniture Company in Winchendon Massachusetts. This is a perfect table for a small to medium size eat in kitchen or dining room. The Formica top is very durable and easy to clean and doesn’t scratch or stain like a wood top. The chairs are also solid wood with no cloth covering to stain or match to your decor.

The table is 100% original with its original Formica top and solid walnut base and legs that have been never been refinished, but are in very good to excellent condition. It has two leaves to take it from a round 4 seat table to oval 6 and oval 8 seat tables. The table legs are removable for transportation.

The four (4) chairs are also 100% original, have not been refinished, and are in very good to excellent condition. They are solid wood with metal on the bottom to protect the wood legs from wear. (Original Post)

Craigslist: Sacramento

This working 1950’s Pinball Machine looks awesome and is only $200 bucks. If I had a game room or even time to play games, I’d be into it.  (Original Post)

I’m a sucker for tapered legs and brass caps and this baby is only $450 bucks! I saw one of these at a Gary Schiff estate sale awhile back, but I am completely maxed out of furniture space and I don’t even know how to play the piano. The ad doesn’t mention anything about a matching bench but asking wouldn’t hurt. (original post)

Best offer accepted on this cabinet. It looks like a 1950’s metal cabinet with a formica counter top but the description doesn’t say. Sure is beautiful though! My 1951 home came with the original metal cabinets (cracked ice counter tops) that look similar to these but they’re used as garage cabinets. I love them very much and I plan on taking them with me if I ever sell. (original post)
